Give Back

Three Men in Workshop

Following in the footsteps of our benevolent founder, Father William O’Connor, philanthropy continues to play an important role in our nonprofit mission.  When people (and companies) join us to provide exceptional services to seniors in the greater Stockton community … we celebrate!

With only 2% of all giving in the United States directed toward senior causes, we know our work will be a challenge as we build relationships and partnerships to change the focus toward helping seniors. We hope you will join us!

Overview

Philosophy

Over the past three decades, O’Connor Woods earned the reputation as a solid and trusted choice for northern San Joaquin County seniors. We pride ourselves on providing flexibility, an engaging and worry-free lifestyle, financial stability and future health care support. Today, we are a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to redefining the Life Plan Community / CCRC for our residents. Led by the values of our founders, our governance is fully vested in a volunteer board of directors committed to the long-term stability and mission of the organization.

History

Father O'Connor

Our history is rich and shapes the essence of who we are. O’Connor Woods stands today as the dream of Father William O’Connor, a local Catholic priest who saw the need to build a home for old men. Although not part of Father O’Connor’s original vision, strong encouragement from local physicians gave way to including a hospital as part of our care. In 1899, we founded St. Joseph’s Hospital and Home for Old Men in Stockton, California.
